Week in Review

Can you believe that Little Dude will be 7 MONTHS OLD tomorrow??? He is such a happy guy. He is all over the place. We actually bought a big play yard (picture a big fenced in area). He loves rolling around and crawling in it. Mommy loves it because it keeps him away from dangerous items. This means mommy actually gets to eat dinner while it's hot (most nights).

We had what seemed to be a million errands to run this week. Little Dude was well behaved, as usual. He has been non-stop with the "da da da da" this week. He is so funny. He rolls around on the floor talking nearly all day. He's also started picking up toy animals while on his back then he holds the animal over his head and talks to it. The amusement never ends!

Grammy & Grampa came over for a visit earlier in the week. Little Dude was waking up when they got here. We were getting clothes out of the closet and Grammy walked in. She started talking to him and he quickly turned around to see who it was. He gave her the biggest goofiest grin when he saw her. It definitely made her day!

I've been writing this during his nap, but he is now awake. He lets us know he's awake by clanging his crib mirror toy. The clangs are getting really loud (which leads me to believe his feet are doing the clanging). I have to go get him up, but we hope you have a great weekend!

Teeth & Talking

Our Little Dude had another busy day today. He now has TWO teeth! His other bottom tooth broke through during the night last night. Thank goodness because the poor guy was in pain this past week. We had a playdate with his little girlfriend. They kept taking a toy from each other which was quite amusing. Little Dude happened to have it when I took the picture, but his little girlfriend had it within a few minutes of this picture being taken.

Little Dude is very talkative these days. He carries on "conversations" with me throughout the day. He said a word today!!!.... and I am sad to report it was "Da Da". As much as I say "ma ma ma" to him, he still said "da da" first. *insert pouty face* He did say it to me though, so he hasn't put the name with the person yet. Now I must be going so I can go say "ma ma ma" to him while he sleeps. ;)

Waiting

We have been waiting for this moment for a long time.

I mean, a LONG TIME.

Like... almost 7 months.

And, lo and behold, when the time finally came, all we had with us to take a picture was our phones. But it will have to do.

Reaching Up

We've had a very busy week, but I wanted to do a quick (and I do mean quick) update.

Little Dude has learned how to reach up when he wants to be picked up. He also reaches out when he wants to go to you. Talk about melting my heart! Gosh, I love this kid.

SNOW!

Little Dude has experienced more snow in his first year than mommy and daddy have in their lives! We had a snow day yesterday and took Little Dude out in the snow. Here are a few pictures from his adventures in the snow.

Tooth!!

This just in....

Little Dude's first tooth just broke through the gum! He hasn't even been fussy about it, except when I shoved my finger in his mouth to check and see if it really was a tooth I felt. Whenever I can convince him to smile, I will post a picture with his cute little tooth!

Week Recap

It was a busy week for us last week. Little Dude & Mommy went out to eat with some of Mommy's friends. Little Dude was great & enjoyed having all eyes on him. Little Dude also had a play date with his Little Girlfriend. While they were over, mommy did a photo shoot with Little Girlfriend. I am currently trying to build up a portfolio so we can possibly turn my photography into a business.

On Friday, a family that mommy used to babysit/nanny came by for a short visit. It was so much fun seeing how much the kids had grown. I have to admit though that it was a little strange having the little kids who used to be "my little babies" sit there and hold MY baby. They are growing up too fast! I was so excited about them being there that I forgot to take any pictures. Ugh!!

On Saturday, Little Dude got to have a donut hole for the very first time. What do you think? Do you think he liked it??

I've been working on this blog all day between naps, feedings and housework. Little Dude just did something amazing today. He got up on all fours, rocked back and forth a few times then crawled FORWARD for the first time ever! He only made it about two "steps" before he sprawled. It will truly be any day now when he gets up and goes full steam ahead!

Yum!

Little Dude had his first taste of pizza crust last night. Can you hear him saying "Yummm!"?
